The puggles (baby Echidna) grow independent from their mother from only seven months of age and live a solitary life! Luckily, their physical features help them survive - they can catch their prey with their six inch long tongue, they can track food through their snout's electroreceptors, and can hide easily by camouflaging into the ground with their multi-coloured spines.

The Echidna EUGY was made in association with the Royal Australian Mint and appears on the Australian 5 cent coin.
